Hello
This is the informal Blog for Sky Lake Lodge Shambhala Buddhist Meditation Center in Rosendale, New York. This is an experiment in communicating what's happening at Sky Lake -behind the scenes, in the pipe line - an attempt to open the space of communication. It was suggested at today's "meeting of all committees" - so here goes.

I think this is a wonderful new format for us to chat back and forth without a tight agenda. I love it. It feels like a good community connecting tool. Not too tight and not too loose!

I don't think that the problem is specific to Sky Lake; it is my sincere wish that Shambhala open its heart and become truly RIME so that no one hits a "glass ceiling" because *their* authentic teacher has given them practices that they cannot do at any Shambhala site.
ReplyDeleteI left Sky Lake very sadly; it was my entry point into Buddhism. But I could not afford to waste my money taking courses that did not apply to what my teacher asked me to do.
It is my belief that the changes will have to come from the top; and my prayer that they will come so that some day soon, I can do solitary retreat or join a practice group at Sky Lake who are doing the same practices given to me by my auththenic Tibetan teacher.
